VASSILIEFF Marie (2)

Marie Vassilieff (Mariya Ivanovna Vassilieva) was a Russian Empire painter. She moved to Paris before WW1. She was later on influenced by the Montparnasse artist cloth dolls movment and started in 1921 the making of stuffed chamois and stuffed cloth portrait dolls with a cubist look.

Cloth dolls exhibit at Salon des Indépendants in 1921.
